Heartburn is a burning feeling in your chest or throat. As discussed under Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, it happens when acid push back into your oesophagus from your stomach.

 

Causes:

- Food and alcohol

- Obesity

- Pregnancy

- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease – a weakened valve between stomach and oesophagus

 

Treatment:

Usually over the counter medication will take away your symptoms.

If symptoms persist, see your doctor.

 

Please remember, if you have chest ain that are not relieved by antacids, and you are concerned about your chest pain, rather consult your doctor as soon as possible as chest pain might be related to you heat.
