Haemorrhoids are swelling around your anus due to blood vessels that are enlarged.
Symptoms may include:
Haemorrhoids are mostly small and symptoms free.
- Bright red blood after you pass a stool
- Itchy anus
- A palpable lump hanging outside of your anus after you have passed a stool.
Causes or risk factors:
- Constipation
- Obesity
- Older than 45
- Pregnancy
- Family history
Treatment:
- Increase the fibre in your diet
- Drink plenty of water
- Do not ignore the urge to pass a stool
- Exercise regularly
- Loose weight
- Avoid medication that cause constipation
