


The thyroids main function is to release hormones that have powerful effects on many different functions of the body. Thyroid cancer is a cancerous growth of your thyroid gland. There is at least 4 main types of thyroid cancer.
Symptoms may include:
- Lump over airpipe
- Pain in neck
- Difficulty in breathing or swallowing
- Hoarseness
- Abnormal weight gain
- Abnormal weight loss
- Decreased calcium levels

Treatment:
Treament plan depends on the type and grade of your cancer.
Most thyroid cancers area treated with a combination of surgery (removing a part or the whole thyroid) and receiving radiotherapy.
In fast spreading cancers, it may be necessary to remove nearby lymphnodes as well as the thyroid gland.
